TISSUE VIABILITY NURSE

The London Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Centre is looking for a Tissue Viability nurse to develop, head and take forward our wound management service. We are a private company working in partnership with Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS-Trust since 2001. We operate a five day week service to our outpatients who attend our Unit daily for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care.

The successful candidate would guide, support the existing team, have autonomy in practice, have skills in management and service development in the speciality of Tissue Viability.

Flexi hours are available, initially on a 3 days/week, but possibly increasing as the service develops and expands. The Post commences May/June 2010. Salary negotiable.

 The Wound Care side of our business was established in 2005 to support the growing number of patients we were seeing with chronic, non-healing problem wounds, some of which may go on to receive either private or NHS-funded Hyperbaric oxygen treatment. We are currently expanding our premises to include new dedicated wound care facilities, which we expect to be ready by June/July 2010. We work in partnership with referring consultants from all over London and the southeast.

 The successful candidate will be in a position to develop working relationships with local GPs, PCTs, Polyclinic managers, our own host hospital’s departments other healthcare professionals in order to promote and develop the service.
